Operations Manager

Performed project management and analysis for the start-up and transferred activities of United States facility to Empalme, Mexico. Coordinated and managed transference and hiring which included the coordination of the new medical device facility (class I and II) requirements with a 220,000 sq-ft building and a future employee ramp up of up to 850 employees in the first three years. The plant includes plastic injection molding, extrusion, device assembly and packaging. The organization will use a shelter operator model for the first 24 months. Lead the business excellence deployment at the site including integration into both daily operations and long term strategy optimizing operational and financial goals identified by the corporation’s business model.

Manage two Manufacturing Plants in Juarez, Mexico and a Warehouse/Distribution with 600 non-union employees. Direct all plants activities to ensure timely execution of scheduling and manufacturing to meet customers’ product demand and delivery commitments (Plastic Injection, Assembly, Packaging, Sterilization, and Distribution). Optimize operations' intra-processes to meet financial and delivery goals identifying, prioritizing and complete top projects that could impact company business budget, AOP and objectives in a timely manner with full P&L responsibility for in-house customers. Change Agent: Over the last 24 months transformed a struggling business unit by using Kaizen principles that slashed hourly costs from $120 to $59, boosted on-time delivery from 72% to 97%, increased productivity metrics from 60% to 85% and reduced scrap from 13% to only 1.4%. Successfully 100% Oracle Implementation February 2009. In addition, JRZ-ELP FDA inspections resulted in zero 483 in 2008.
